Vancouver Skating Club Policy
Payment & Fees
Payment Schedule: Please refer to your online registration Shopping Cart payment options – Pay at Once or Pay by Installments. Payment accepted by cheque, cash or Visa/MasterCard. No skater may skate until online registration and payment, including the post-dated cheque(s) are received by the Registrar prior to the first due date. All Skate Canada fees must be paid at the beginning of the skating season. All late registration questions should be directed to the Registrar.
Requests to change sessions because of changes in school/work schedule or skating qualification level, MUST BE MADE IN WRITING to the Registrar. An administration/change fee of $10.00 will apply to each session change, and additional ice fees if necessary. Change fees do not carry over to another season. Buy-on fees may be paid for the session you wish to skate on if the change is only temporary. However you must follow the buy-on procedures or discuss the situation with the Registrar and the Skating Director. Skaters are not permitted to sell or trade sessions.
Request of additional session(s) may be made in writing to the Registrar. Payment of additional session(s) will be according to the schedule and fee – early bird discount and/or total weekly ice discount structure do not apply to additional session(s). Late entry or additional session(s) are pro-rated effective November 1st for Fall/Winter Term, and pro-rated effective mid-season for Spring Term.
Privacy Policy: We respect your privacy and are committed to maintaining your confidence and trust. Accordingly we maintain the following privacy policy to protect personal information you provide. Any information you give to us will be held with extreme care and will not be used in ways that you have not consented to.
If you choose to provide personally identifiable information about yourself, we will not use the information for any purpose other than to respond to your inquiry. We do not sell, rent, loan, trade or lease any personal information collected.
On our web site, you may find links to third party web sites. Please note that we are not responsible for the privacy policies or content on third party sites. Therefore, it is recommended that you read the privacy policy of third party web sites for your information.

StarSkate & Competitive Volunteer Fee: A post dated cheque (end of Spring term the following year) must be submitted at Fall/Winter Term in order for a skaters’ registration to be processed. If you choose to pay your skater registration by Visa or MasterCard – you must choose “Pay by Installment” in the Shopping Cart, otherwise the volunteer deposit will be processed right away. Each family can earn back their $250.00 (equal to the post dated cheque or credit card) by volunteering at the Club. The volunteer credits must be earned during the Summer, Fall, Winter or Spring session. It is the responsibility of parents to ensure they fulfill the minimum requirements if they would like their cheque returned or credit card not processed. If they are unsuccessful to earn full 15 credits, their $250 volunteer cheque/credit card will not be prorated.
Refunds/Credits: The VSC does not offer refunds. Ice credits may be granted in the case of medical circumstances. The skater must have missed a minimum of 14 consecutive days to qualify. A Doctor’s certificate must accompany your written request for an ice credit. The Board of Directors will consider medical credits on a case by case basis. If granted, the ice credit will be pro-rated after the 14 day wait period and receipt of medical documentation. Please note VSC refund policy applies to Pre BUY-ON rates as well.
Insufficient Funds: The VSC policy regarding returned cheques states that any person having issued two or more returned cheques to the VSC must make all subsequent payments to the Club by either cash, certified cheque, money order or bank draft. A fee of $25.00 will be charged for each NSF cheque returned to the Club. A fee of $25.00 will be charged if the provided Visa or MasterCard is denied upon processing.
Outstanding Fees: All skaters registering for any program with the Club must pay the fees associated with the program and all outstanding monies due to the Club prior to the program start date. The skater will not be allowed on the session if any fees or monies are outstanding.
CanSkate – Learn to Skate & CanPower – Power Skating Refund Policy: If you request to withdraw from a program more than FIVE days before the scheduled start date, you will receive a full refund less the Skate Canada Fee.
If you request to withdraw anytime between five days before the program starts and no less than 48 hours prior to the start of the second class, you will receive a refund less one class and the Skate Canada Fee. Please note: NO REFUNDS or credits can be issued after the second class once the program has started.
VSC Disclaimer: The VSC reserves the right to change, cancel or reassign skaters to sessions. The Club is not responsible for ice cancellations that are out of its control. The Club endeavours to replace sessions when possible but replacement ice is not guaranteed. Make-ups for sessions missed by skaters are NOT allowed.
